The GP Clinic
Last updated: 1 November 2025
The GP Clinic is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all patients, clinicians, staff, and visitors.
We believe that everyone is entitled to access healthcare with dignity and without discrimination. Our services are delivered in accordance with UK equality legislation, professional medical standards, and ethical principles of respect and fairness.
This policy applies to all interactions on the The GP Clinic platform, including patients, clinicians, staff, contractors, and anyone using or considering using our services.
We welcome patients from all backgrounds and aim to ensure that everyone feels respected and supported when using our services. Discrimination, harassment, prejudice, or intolerance has no place within The GP Clinic.
We expect all users of our platform to behave respectfully toward one another. This includes recognising that individuals may hold different beliefs, backgrounds, and experiences. Differences in opinion must never result in discriminatory or disrespectful behaviour.
In line with the Equality Act 2010, The GP Clinic does not tolerate discrimination on the basis of any protected characteristic, including but not limited to:
Race, colour, ethnicity, or national origin
Religion or belief
Sex or gender
Gender identity
Sexual orientation
Marital or civil partnership status
Age
Disability
Pregnancy or maternity
Patients will not be:
Refused access to consultations or services on discriminatory grounds
Subjected to different terms, conditions, or standards of care based on protected characteristics
Treated less favourably, harassed, or victimised
All patients are expected to engage respectfully with clinicians and staff. Abusive, threatening, or discriminatory behaviour may result in termination of access to services.
Clinicians working with The GP Clinic must:
Provide care in accordance with GMC standards and UK equality law
Not refuse consultations or alter care based on protected characteristics
Not make statements or behave in a way that discourages, demeans, or discriminates against patients
Clinical discretion may be exercised only where a service is not clinically appropriate, safe, or within scope — never on discriminatory grounds.
The GP Clinic respects each individual’s self-identified gender. Where patients choose to share their gender identity or preferred pronouns, we expect this to be respected in professional interactions.
Gender identity alone will never be a reason to refuse care, alter treatment, or impose different conditions.
We do not discriminate based on age or family status where services are legally and clinically appropriate.
Certain services may be restricted by law, safeguarding requirements, or clinical guidelines (for example, paediatric care), and such limitations are applied consistently and lawfully.
We are committed to making our services accessible wherever reasonably possible.
We will not refuse care due to a disability unless the nature of the disability makes it unsafe or impractical to provide an online consultation. Where feasible, we will aim to communicate using accessible methods available on our platform.
Discriminatory, racist, abusive, or harassing behaviour toward patients, clinicians, or staff will not be tolerated.
The GP Clinic reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to services where such behaviour occurs.
This policy is reviewed regularly to ensure compliance with UK law and regulatory guidance.
Concerns or complaints relating to discrimination can be raised via our Complaints Policy, available on our website.
Our goal is to provide high-quality, compassionate medical care in an environment where everyone feels respected, safe, and welcome — regardless of background or identity.
