1. Introduction

Welcome to The GP Clinic (“The GP Clinic”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website https://www.thegpclinic.uk (the “Platform”) and any services provided through it. By accessing the Platform, booking an appointment, or using our services, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Platform or our services.

The GP Clinic operates as a private medical service in the United Kingdom and provides non-emergency online GP consultations only. Our services do not replace NHS GP care or emergency services.

In an emergency, you must call 999 or attend A&E immediately.

These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy, Complaints Policy, and any service-specific terms shown at booking.

 


2. About Us

The GP Clinic is operated by The GP Clinic Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.
Registered office and regulatory details are published on the Platform.

Clinical services are provided by UK-registered clinicians regulated by the General Medical Council (GMC) or other relevant professional bodies.

Where required, we hold appropriate CQC registration for regulated activities.

 


3. Scope of Services

3.1 What we provide

We offer private online GP consultations via secure video or telephone, including (where clinically appropriate):

  • General adult GP consultations
  • Paediatric GP consultations
  • Sick notes and medical certificates
  • Referral letters
  • Private prescriptions
  • General health advice and assessments

All consultations are delivered based solely on the information you provide during the consultation.

 

3.2 What we do not provide

We do not provide:

  • Emergency or urgent care
  • NHS services or NHS prescriptions
  • Long-term chronic disease management
  • Access to NHS medical records
  • Specialist consultations outside GP scope

 

Certain services or medications may be unavailable due to clinical judgement, regulatory restrictions, or safety considerations.

This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Controlled drugs under the Misuse of Drugs Regulations
  • Specialist medicines (e.g. oncology, rheumatology, fertility)
  • Dental treatment or dental infections
  • ADHD assessments or stimulant medication

This list is not exhaustive.

 


4. Online Consultation Limitations

Online consultations have inherent limitations. Physical examination, observations, and investigations may not be possible.

By using our services, you acknowledge that:

  • Advice is based solely on the history you provide
  • You must provide accurate and complete information
  • Failure to disclose relevant information may affect safety and outcomes

Clinicians may advise you to seek in-person assessment, attend your NHS GP, or go to urgent or emergency services where appropriate.

 


5. Appointments, Attendance & Cancellations

5.1 Booking and attendance

  • All appointments must be paid for in full at the time of booking
  • Appointments are for one clinical issue only
  • You must attend at the scheduled time

If you are more than 5 minutes late, the clinician may be unable to proceed and the appointment may be marked as missed.

 

5.2 Cancellations and rescheduling

  • Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice are non-refundable
  • Appointments may be rescheduled once only, subject to availability
  • Missed appointments are non-refundable

 

5.3 Our right to cancel

If we cancel your appointment due to clinician unavailability or operational reasons, you will be offered a refund or rebooking.

 


6. Fees and Payments

  • Prices are displayed on the Platform at booking
  • Payment is accepted via debit card, credit card, and other methods shown
  • All fees are payable in advance

Refunds, where applicable, are processed to the original payment method only.

 


7. Prescriptions and Treatments

  • Prescriptions are issued only where clinically appropriate
  • No prescription is guaranteed
  • Prescriptions may be issued via a licensed third-party pharmacy

Medication supply is subject to pharmacy availability, legal restrictions, and safety checks.

Some consultations may require follow-up appointments before treatment can be issued.

 


8. Medical Certificates and Documents

Issuance of documents (including sick notes and referral letters) is subject to:

  • Clinical discretion
  • Regulatory guidance
  • Verification of identity and consultation outcome

We may refuse to issue documentation if it is not clinically justified.

 


9. Geographic Restrictions

Our services are available only to patients physically located in the United Kingdom at the time of consultation.

If you are outside the UK, we may be unable to provide advice, treatment, or documentation, and refunds will not be issued.

 


10. Technical Requirements

You are responsible for ensuring:

  • A stable internet connection
  • Working audio/video equipment
  • Browser permissions

Failure to attend due to technical issues on your side does not entitle you to a refund.

 


11. Clinical Discretion

Our clinicians retain full professional discretion and may:

  • Decline treatment
  • Limit advice
  • Refer you elsewhere
  • Terminate a consultation

This is done to protect patient safety and comply with professional standards.

 


12. Privacy and Data Protection

We process personal data in accordance with:

  • UK GDPR
  • Data Protection Act 2018

Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details.

We may use third-party clinical systems and pharmacies under appropriate data-processing agreements.

 


13. Complaints

We aim to resolve complaints fairly and promptly.

If you are unhappy with our service, please follow our Complaints Policy, available on the Platform.

Unresolved disputes may be referred to an approved alternative dispute resolution provider.

 


14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons.

Continued use of the Platform after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

 


15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
